Hwa Rang Do
Hwa Rang Do is a Korean martial art that combines mental and physical disciplines in a way that helps those who practice Hwa Rang Do reach their highest potential. The concept behind this martial art is getting inside an opponent's attack and then striking the opponent's joints and body with a hardness like steel.
There are four aspects of Hwa Rang Do that combine to form the basis of this art. The first is external exercises, which is learning the aspects of punching, kicking, striking, throwing, locks and pressure points.
The second aspect of Hwa Rang Do is internal exercises. This is the ability of a person to control and strengthen themselves internally through recognized means, such as stretching, flexibility and exercises similar to gymnastics.
The third aspect of this is weaponry usage. Practitioners learn to use many forms of weapons, such as swords, spears, staffs, ropes and various forms of knives. These can take a great deal of time and concentration to learn and will help you focus on the task at hand.
The fourth and final aspect of this martial art is mental strengthening. There are so many moves and techniques to learn to master Hwa Rang Do, and it takes a great deal of mental capacity and a good memory to understand all that you will need to learn.
